Imagine giving someone the greatest outdoor adventure gift life has to offer? Literally. The greatest. adventure. life. has. to. offer. Let that sink in. It sounds so good, right? Giving someone an experience that’s life changing! Who wouldn’t want to give that?
Well, you can actually give that very thing without the massive expense of sending your friend to Everest. What’s this amazing thing we speak of? A skydiving gift certificate.
In the years we’ve been running a skydiving center, we routinely hear our guests say things like:
“That’s the greatest thing I’ve ever done!!!!!!!” (always lots of exclamation points when this is being said).
“That’s right up there with having kids or getting married.”
or (brace yourselves)
“That was better than sex!” (we legitimately hear this every day).
So, if this is what people are always saying, shouldn’t skydiving lessons be a more common gift for adventurers? (we think so). The cost of skydiving is far less than most any other life-changing experience as it requires little training, gives massive experiential value in less than four hours and you don’t have to travel to the far ends of the planet to experience it (you can travel to Miller, Missouri). :-)
It gets even better.
Purchasing a skydiving gift card or one of our skydiving gift packages doesn’t even require you to make a phone call (you can purchase one right here), though we’d be more than happy to speak with you about this life-changing experience.
3 Reasons Why People Don’t Give Skydiving Gift Certificates (and why they’re wrong for not doing so).
1. It Seems Crazy
It’s not as crazy as it may seem… unorthodox, sure, but did you know more than 9 million skydives are made annually throughout the world?!
The technology of skydiving equipment has come a long way and you’d be amazed to see who skydives multiple times weekly — people just like me and you. We routinely host doctors, lawyers, engineers, bankers, restauranteurs, servers, mechanics… you name the occupation, we see them. These people wouldn’t be termed as ‘crazy’ and yet they participate in skydiving weekly and love doing it (none of these people have a death wish).
2. It’s Dangerous
We’ll come right out and say it so as not to try and sugar coat anything… you could be killed doing this and many people through the last 50 years have died from skydiving, but the safety statistics for modern day skydiving shows that the risk is measurable and not as dangerous as one may think. The USPA has shared that a tandem skydiving fatality occurs roughly once every 500,000 tandem jumps. This stat shows that the occurrence of your demise is more likely to occur via a lightning strike or by getting stung from a bee.
(Above, safety statistics for licensed skydivers. Tandem skydiving has an even better safety record).
3. Skydiving is Only For Young People
Nope. Nada. Simply not true. People in their 90s (and even a lady of 101) has a made a skydive. We routinely host guests who present their AARP cards at check-in to see if they qualify for a senior citizen’s discount (sorry, we don’t have a senior rate). So if you’re looking for a great gift for an outdoorsy mom, for Dad or even Grandma, the only thing that’s required is a youthful spirit and a small sense of adventure. We take care of the rest!
3 Reasons Why People Should Give a Skydiving Gift Certificate
1. The Reaction
You’re already visualizing their reaction in your head… your loved one opening a card with a skydiving gift certificate and watching their jaw hit the ground!!! Could there be a better response for a gift? We don’t think so!!
2. The Anticipation
The skydiving package in their wallet will certainly not be treated like any other gift card… it won’t be forgotten; it can’t be forgotten!!! Within their pocket is life’s greatest adventure and their heart will be on rapid fire as they make their booking with us! IT’S SO EXCITING and scary all at the same time!!! What an amazing gift!
3. The Life-Changing Experience
Here’s the secret about skydiving. It’s not as scary as you think it is. The mental build up is far worse than the actual event itself. Seeing people grinning from ear to ear during the skydive is not artificial because you don’t have a sensation of falling — it’s a floating sensation that feels controlled and simply, WONDERFUL. That is one special gift for the adventurer in your life!
Should you give a skydiving gift card? We’re a little biased, but if you’re wanting to give something that the recipient will never forget for as long as they live… then this exactly that thing!
