Tandem Skydiving Questions

What should I wear skydiving?

Wear clothing that's comfortable for the temperatures on the ground. If it's a bit cool, wear layers and try to stay away from anything too bulky (big jackets). In the summer months, tee shirts and shorts are fine.

For footwear, no slippers or open toe shoes will be permitted. Also, boots aren't ideal. Tennis shoes/sneakers will be perfect.

^

Should I eat before my skydive?

Yes, it's important to eat normally before you go skydiving. Many people worry about feeling ill during the experience and don't eat which actually makes the chances of feeling nauseated increase. Not eating can result in low blood sugar which will make you feel nauseated once under parachute after the high surge of adrenaline from the free fall experience.

We'd prefer you not overeat, but eat sensibly and you should have no problems!

What are the details of the photo / video package?

Photos and videos are taken from a wrist-mounted camera from your instructor. This is an excellent way to capture the experience as we are able to get a tight shot of our students while in free fall and capture their reactions while under the parachute.

Shooting good freefall video is a skill and our instructors have perfected the art! Check out this and all other packages available on our Skydiving Prices page to learn more.

Can I bring my own GoPro or other camera to record my skydive?

Unfortunately, you generally cannot bring your own camera to record your skydive. The USPA mandates that all skydiving participants have a minimum of 200 jumps before handling a camera in free fall. Tandem students have an important role during the skydive... it's not a simple ride. In the interest of safety, we follow the guidelines set by the USPA and also wish for our students to focus on their role during the jump instead of worrying about the correct camera angles!

What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my jump?

If the weather is questionable on the day of your skydive, give us a call. Weather can impede your skydive, however it's not rare that the weather man is more often wrong than right. We regularly get calls from guests who are 30 minutes away saying it's raining while we're skydiving under perfectly blue skies. We have a weather page dedicated to the current conditions, but when in doubt, please call us!

^

Should I tip my skydive instructor?

Tipping your skydive instructor is not expected and we don't want our guests to feel pressured to do so, but tipping is appreciated if you feel your instructor did an excellent job. Instructors always appreciate the recognition if they exceeded your expectations!

Check out our article with a couple of situations and the typical skydiving tipping etiquette explained.

What time should I arrive for my skydive?

Your scheduled time is your arrival time. If coming as a group, it is very important that everyone be on time as registration, paperwork and training will happen with everyone together.
